We are very happy to welcome Graham, of the Big Mango Bar, to join us today for a quasi-interview. With his recent post on the Mango Blog, questions and rumors have been flying high about “the future” – including (predictably) the usual broken-record-rants from the usual sockie (you know, same guy that has been endlessly predicting the capture of Keith Summers, and then answers his own taunts on Kenny’s site – well, ’nuff said.)Without further ado – here’s Graham!
RDD: Graham, thanks for joining us for this little Q&A. As I pointed out in the opener, it seems like our special (as in ‘education) friends over on Kenny’s site have their own theories about reality – and while he certainly pretends to have a big mouth, it seems like there’s little substance behind it all … one might conclude “as usual”. Do you have any thoughts on that?
Graham: …. the sockies….. Ha! I just knew I’d get a rise out of that bunch of broke ass losers. For starters, they STILL hide from me!! Come on, I am only little. Come and have a go… I dare you… I double dare you!
RDD: Well, to be honest, I wouldn’t bet against you. These guys, and there seem to be just 2-3 of them, have proven over the years to be consistent cowards and no-shows – in fact, how long has this been going on?
Graham: 5 years. Kenny and his sockies are all upset because after 5 YEARS – I am not thinking of doing something else. Yes, 5 years. For 5 years Kenny has tried to harm me and failed!
RDD: Wow, has it been that long – time flies, I guess. So, after 5 years, the Big Mango has thrived (as far as I can see), as you’ve gone through a renovation, expanded and updated interior and exterior. I really like the new look, which I had a chance to sample when I stopped by during my trip last year. 5 years, and at worst the Big Mango has held it’s own – yet, when we compare that what Kenny has ‘achieved’ in 5 years…. well, not a whole lot – particularly with indications that CSUN plans to wipe off the ugly stain that he’s become sometimes this year, but I digress…
Is there anything you wrote that could have brought about all that misunderstanding? I read the same blog post, and I saw nothing else there, than your genuine having grown tired of how Bangkok has changed.
Graham: That’s right. All I wrote was that the visitors to Bangkok have changed. (of course, the sad fucking losers have always been there) I have a new project that I am working on, so am looking to leave Bangkok. Why the fuss? The only people put out by this are the jealous assholes!
RDD: A new project? Could we be looking at a Big Mango sister bar in some other location? Phuket? Paris? Monaco? Los Angeles?

RDD: I also read somewhere that a question got censored?!?!
Graham: Good one. I don’t censor any questions – Not that I get any. I might ignore certain personal questions about people which is none of their business. Unfortunately these kinds of people are only looking to use this information to create some kind of trouble. If you want to ask me a question, do it to my face. Don’t hide behind a monitor. Everyone that is upfront an honest with me, gets an honest answer.You want to know who owns the Mango? Well, it’s not Nick and Mike. They are long gone.
RDD: Right, myself, and Gulliver, and BigDummy – we’re all co-owners, if “those” sources are to be believed. I sure hope you’re not going to ask us to work in the kitchen, or cleaning the short-time room…
Graham: The bathroom on the second floor, or my penthouse on top?
RDD: Yes, that one 
I love that persistent meme about the short-time room. With 3-4 short-time hotels right outside the Big Mango, who’d need a short-time room on premises. Just stupid… oh, right, and then there’s the other meme that you “hate Mango customers” – I would think that if you hated customers, they wouldn’t keep coming back, yet they do… I guess your customers must be gluttons for punishment?

Where did I say that? I actually said that I don’t see many of them as customers, but as friends who I like to hang out with.
RDD:: I’m still intrigued that it’s been 5 years – and doesn’t Kenny (or his sycophant) realize that, if the Big Mango is still here after 5 years, and has expanded and constantly improved, that this is far from considering it a “failure”?
Graham: The Mango failed? Really? How does a hobby fail? It’s not like it’s costing me money… But get this, and this is the best bit…. in the Mango, all the wankers that are against it – don’t drink there! So I don’t have to be near those uneducated cheap assholes. Great! I have, and still hang out with great people. I visit the gogos and have a great time. I am popular and liked in my circles. I can only assume that it pains Kenny and his pals that he gets no mention whatsoever on the Mango blog. He is too insignificant to subject the Mango readership to. Kenny ‘needs’ all this on his site to keep the 2 or 3 readers entertained.
RDD: So, effectively, it’s a win/win for you? The “wankers” (as you call them) are afraid to come near the Big Mango, you don’t have to deal with them, and you get to have a great time with like-minded friends. Sounds like “winning” to me.
Graham: Exactly! How many of them can say that? They are either fat-ass broke english teachers or a two-week sex tourist? Or in the case of moRonru and Kenny – someone who is petrified of ever bumping into me because they fear a good kicking.
RDD: Well, I think that covers all the “hard questions” I had. Thanks for taking the time. Let’s go hit some Gogo bars next time.

Although Graham shows a lot of anger in his replies, I would be willing to bet there is more hatered directed at the Big Mango because of the duck rather than Graham.

And to follow that up, I can point you to Graham’s quote where he denigrates the two week sex tourist and English teachers. I can’t help but think that saying such thing alienates some people that are sex tourists or English teachers.

In conclusion, I just read the entire interview, and Graham does not come off as a very likable chap. I am sure his friends do love him and enjoy being around him, but he comes off very much like Lance Armstrong. And about censorship, I am positive these posts will all be removed as they don’t 1. Denigrate Kenny and 2. Show a deep love and admiration for the duck or Graham.

Yes, I realize I came across angry. However, I was rather ‘angry’ when I wrote it – having heard what Kenny and his pals were saying.
I have grown tired of his constant trouble making and cowardliness.
As for the remarks about sex tourists and english teachers are aimed at the certain Sex Tourists and English Teachers that contribute to Kennys hate site.
I can honestly say that I have friends that are English Teachers and friends who are.. well, sex tourists. For those of you that know the ins and outs of what Kenny and his pals have been doing, they’ll understand who I am talking about. i.e… ronru the sex tourist!
I am sorry if my comments offended you, but believe me, if you were in my position, the time would come when enough is enough!

Graham, all of my posts will be deleted, they always are. I can understand where your anger comes from, but in this reply you come off as a level-headed guy, a nice guy in fact. But if I had never been ro the Big Mango, which I haven’t, and I had never met you, which also I haven’t, I would have a picture in my mind of an angry Wayne Rooney, with a pulsing red face, ready to explode at any moment. Personally I blame the duck for all of this. I upcountry at the moment, but when I am back in Bangkok, The Big Mango will be on my list. And for the record I am not a shrill for Kenny, I’m a shrill for myself, truth, justice, and the American way.

Martin, Martin, Martin (or whatever plethora of other names you previously posted under) – as you know, we do not falsely pretend to have a “no censorship” policy over here. In fact, inappropriate posts will always find them selves removed with extreme prejudice, because they are, well, inappropriate.
Thus, your prior ‘comments’ (if you want to call them that) have been removed for being inappropriate – usually because they have been offensive and abusive nonsense. You may disagree, in which case I invite you to present a valid argument why your prior posts/comments should have survived. Unlike your buddy Kenny’s site, I am certainly willing to listen to the voice of reason — though I doubt that you necessarily represent it.

i didnt visit this site for what feels like a few years. You guys are stuck. Devoting what must be a fair amount of time and mental energy to such a pointless endeavour. I see in the time that has passed since I last visited, nothing has actually changed really, Kenny is a bit more of a loser than he was previously, and there is a picture of Ronru, confirming he looks exactly like an old Australian sex tourist….not exactly a shocking reveal. You guys are still talking about prufrock, despite the fact he has moved on (i think). I mean everyone has to have A hobby, but aren’t you bored yet?

Why not just create a LOVE blog about all the great things to love about Thailand. That’s the thing I can’t get over, everybody has all this energy to spew hate and vitriol. We all discovered Thailand and we all love the place (Graham’s sometimes frustrated crankiness aside
).
Put that energy into something positive and spread some joy and happiness around. Or at least someone named Joy to make you have a happy… You get the dumb joke.

Hey Graham,
You keep saying how insignificant Kenny and us so called sock puppets are, but have really put any thought into your blasts?
If you are going into a new venture, don’t you think you should just shut your mouth? After all if Kenny was so destructive to your Big Mango Bar business, don’t you think that if you start a new venture (hotel) that you should do your best to ignore them. Bad reviews of your new hotel could also sink your investments (bed bugs, roaches, theft, noise, etc…).
Maybe you should consult with the Kwan before you go off on one of your alcohol induced rants.

Kenny and his little coward friends never hurt the Mango as people that go to the Mango have no idea who he is and when spoken about him, they think (as we all do) that he is a mentally disturbed man. In addition to him being publicly humiliated at his Uni for having a sex site where he provides gps coordinates for underage girls, having been sued by a student for improper behavior I think the only thing that was hurt is Kennys ego when he made advances at a girl in the Mango and was rejected. It would seem (if Kenny is correct) that he couldn’t pull in a whore house!

Hello Graham,
I subscribe and have commented on the Mango blog (not much lately, but then I barely have time to keep up with even reading at the moment…) so have been reading your posts there as well as, obviously, here.
Just a bit confused and would appreciate you setting me straight. Are you selling the Mango or become a passive/minority investor or owning but not actively managing (as you are moving to Hua Hin area it appears)? Apologies if this is too intrusive and you’d rather not comment, but just curious.
I’d love to find a way to arrange my life in a similar fashion so trying to understand what your current situation is. I assume up to this point you have had a work visa as the operator of The Mango and so, if you have changed your ownership status, wondering if your visa status is changing also? Just trying to understand as I would really like to emulate in the (probably not near but hopeful) future.

I am not the Manager at the Mango. Never have been. As stated numerous times, I am not in Bangkok to work. I am here for fun. The Mango (and I know this upsets the Kenny fans) is a hobby.
I have a day job (oilfield roustabout apparently?) which more than pays for my lifestyle.
This enables me to work 6 months and then have 6 months off.
As for the ownership – well, despite what you may read or hear, I am the only Farang involved. The other is Thai.
Due to having got with my new girlfriend a few months back, I have decided to step back from the Mango so I can spend more time with her. This year we want to set up home (Hua Hin) and then do a bit of traveling. This is the only reason for me stepping back.
Preferably, I’d like a clean break, so that I don’t have to deal with some of the trash that comes through the door, pretends to be something they’re not and then posts shit on the Kenny site.
However, the Mango doesn’t cost me anything, so having an apartment here (for weekends) seems like a good idea.
There are good things and bad things about having your own bar. The good thing is you can serve who you want, you can drink when you want and you can play whatever music you want!
The downside is that there are people here ‘struggling’ who get jealous of your situation and spend as much time as they can – writing lies on the internet.
These are the people that will come to the bar – take free drinks off you, be totally 2-faced and run off talking shit. The people that hide away behind their computers who are too cowardly to confront me. (and I am only little!)
There is soooo much more I could tell you, but this isn’t the place. I am not as low as the Kenny gang.
Do feel free to stop by for a beer for some horrible truths about Kenny and his pals!

Aw, c’mon, Graham – you gotta admit, they are entertaining in their continued ignorance and lack of clues, bitterness and hatred of those who do much better than they ever could – being the miserable, close-to-the-line losers that they are, hanging out with Kenny (there’s really just two of them over there, just so you know).
